TWO community causes have shared an £800 funding pot handed out by Boston Mayflower Housing Association.

The Bell Mere Pool group was given £397 while Boston’s Centrepoint Outreach received £400.

Bell Mere Pool, in Sutterton, was created to feature ponds and allow visitors to examine wildlife and is looked after by a team of volunteers.

Pool co-ordinator Terry Despicht said: “We are grateful for Boston Mayflower’s donation. The money will help fund the installation of a path to allow wheelchair access to the site.”

Boston’s Centrepoint Outreach, in Red Lion Street, will use its Community Champions award to fund the work it does in helping homeless, lonely and vulnerable people with their needs. The cash award was decided by the Mayflower’s Area Panel.

Boston Mayflower’s Community Champions award scheme rewards community groups and organisations for outstanding work in the area.
