SLIDESHOW: Boston communities turn out for Remembrance Sunday
Crowds gathered in Boston yesterday to pay their respects to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
War veterans, serving personnel and young cadets took part in a precession through the town.
They gathered at Boston War Memorial, in Wide Bargate, where a two-minute silence was held followed by the Service of Remembrance and the laying of wreaths.
Some 65 members of Boston Army Cadets 25 Platoon took part in the parade and service in Boston and in Kirton.
Stephen Morrison, secretary of the Boston branch of the Royal British Legion, said: “We would like to thank the hundreds of people who turned out to attend The Service of Remembrance. May we also apologise to the many people who were unable to be given a copy of The Orders of Service.
“We had 500 copies printed but due to the huge numbers attending we just ran out. The weather was exceptional and the two minutes silence observed impeccably in bright sunshine. A special thank you to Boston Scooter Club for turning out in numbers. Once again, thank you so much for making it a truly memorable day. ‘We Will Remember Them’.”
