ANTHONY George Walter Fixter
ANTHONY George Walter Fixter, of Northlands, Sibsey, has died in Pilgrim Hospital following a short illness. He was 58.
Born in Northlands, he lived in this area all his life.
A married man, he leaves his wife Margaret, sons Matthew and Mark and sister Carol.
Mr Fixter left school at 15 to work on the family farm at Bridge Farm. He was still actively running the business until his death. He also ran a static caravan park at the same address.
Mr Fixter was passionate about shooting and country sports. He was also keen to preserve old farm machinery.
He served on Sibsey Parish Council, was a Sibsey Free School governor, Northlands Village Hall trustee, sat on Boston farmers ball committee, Frithville and North Holland Young Farmers and Deanery Synod, Parochial Church Council.
He was also a chaplaincy volunteer at Pilgrim Hospital.
His funeral, officiated by the Rev Rosemary Taylor, was held at St Margaret's Church, Sibsey.
Chief family mourners were: Margaret Fixter (wife), Mark Fixter, Matthew Fixter (sons), Carol Bryan (sister), Dominic Bryan, Jonathon Priestley, Adrian Booth, Oliver Booth (nephews), Rodney and Mary Priestley, Freda and Roger Booth, Shirley and Charles Booth (sisters-in-law and husbands), Jayne and Kevin Walsh (niece and husband), Martyn Booth and Laura Gilbert, Duncan Booth and Michelle Pitcher, Neil Booth and Emily Wesley (nephews and partners).
