IRENE Barwick (Rene), of Willoughby Road, Boston, has died in Pilgrim Hospital following a short illness. She was 102.
Born in Boston, she lived in this area all her life.
Widow of Edward Barwick, she leaves her sister Mrs A. Virth, nephews Mr J. Morley, Mr R. Wright, Mr A. Cocks, Mr K. Cocks, Mr M. Virth, Mr C. Virth, and Mr S. Virth, and nieces Mrs J. Barton, Mrs J. Price, and Mrs J. Waine.
Mrs Barwick was a housewife.
She was an active member of St Nicholas's Church, Skirbeck, and enjoyed old-time dancing. She was an expert in crochet work, having taught many others.
Her funeral, officiated by Father Paul Noble, was held at St Nicholas's Church, Skirbeck, and was followed by burial in the churchyard.
Chief family mourners were: Mrs A. Virth (sister), Mr J. Morley, Mr R. Wright, Mr A. Cocks, Mr K. Cocks, Mr M. Virth, Mr C. Virth, Mr S. Virth (nephews), Mrs J. Barton, Mrs J. Price, Mrs J. Waine (nieces), Mrs C. Akel, Mrs H. Booth, Mrs J. Wallis (great-nieces), Mr S. Waine, Mr K. Virth, Mr S. Marshall, Mr and Mrs D. Marshall (great-nephews).
