Mr Kenneth Richard Sands (Ken)

KENNETH Richard Sands (Ken), of Old Leake, has died at Pilgrim Hospital, following a short illness.

He was 76.

Born in Friskney, he lived in this area his whole life.

A married man, he is survived by wife Irene, daughter Susan, sister Dorothy and brothers Geoff and Ron.

Following two years National Service with the RAF, Mr Sands was a bread delivery driver before finally working with Boston radiators.

He enjoyed gardening and taking holidays in Norfolk.

Mr Sands’ funeral has taken place and was followed by cremation. The service was officiated by the Rev David Kendrew.

Chief family mourners were: Irene (wife), Susan and Carl Thompson (daughter and son-in-law), Kirsty Thompson (granddaughter), Dorothy and Ray Barber (sister and brother-in-law), Geoff and Gill Sands and Ron and Sheila Sands (brothers and sisters-in-law), Andrew Barber (nephew), Matthew and Ruth Sands (nephew and wife), Neal Armstrong, Ray Sands, Margaret Willerton, Gilbert Sands, Doreen Frost, Kevin Sands and Robin Sands (cousins), Ann and Ray Chambers (sister-in-law and husband), Nicola and Wayne Kitchen (niece and husband), Chloe and Josh Kitchen (great-niece and nephew) and Les Griffin, Maureen Baines, Kath Benton, Sue Evison, Joyce Trafford, Mr J. Barter, Mr M. Mumby, Mr and Mrs E. Wright, Mr and Mrs M. Jaques, Mr and Mrs B. Smith, Mr and Mrs L. Green, Mr and Mrs C. Gostelow, Mrs B. Pacey, Mr and Mrs J. Wilson, Mr and Mrs K. Bailey, Mr H. Pratt and Mr and Mrs C, Church (other family members).
