Mrs Mavis Edith Stephenson (May)

MAVIS Edith Stephenson (May), of Park Avenue, Sutterton, has died at home following a 10-year illness.

She was 73.

Born in Sutterton, she lived in this area her whole life.

A married woman, she is survived by husband Frank Stephenson, son Andrew Stephenson, grandson Jak Stephenson and sisters Margaret Sansam and Marlene Wakefield.

On leaving school Mrs Stephenson worked for M. S. Modes as a sales assistant, later working for Geest in Spalding before C and C. Scrupps Garden Centre, in Wigtoft, until she retired.

She enjoyed gardening and socialising.

Her funeral took place at Boston Crematorium and was followed by cremation. The service was officiated by the Rev David De Verney.

Chief family mourners were: Frank Stephenson (husband), Andrew Stephenson (son), Jak Stephenson (grandson), Brian Sansam (brother-in-law representing Margaret Sansam), Marlene Wakefield (sister), Mr and Mrs B. Stephenson (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), Mrs M. Stephenson (sister-in-law), C. Sansam and R. Sansam (nephew and nephew's daughter), N. Medlock and H. Medlock (niece and niece's daughter), L. Wakefield and C. Wakefield (nephew and wife), J. Wakefield and S. Lea (niece and partner), Mr and Mrs R. Lorenz and Abbie (niece, husband and daughter), Joyce Royce (aunt), James, Roy and Brian Warnes, Jean and Maxine Fisher, Pam Taylor, Jan Blackamore, Elaine Andrew, Graham and Margaret Royce, Jane Sorby, Richard Biggerdyke, Jean and Peter Roughton, Mollie and Eric King, and June and Janet (cousins and families).

Unable to attend: Margaret Sansam (sister).
