MYRA Featherstone

MYRA Featherstone, of Barehams Lane, Quadring, has died in Pilgrim Hospital following a short illness. She was 78.

Born in Wolsingham, County Durham, she lived in this area for 56 years.

A married woman, she leaves her husband Norman Featherstone and sons Michael Featherstone and David Featherstone.

Mrs Featherstone was an infants teacher at Quadring Cowley and Browns School from 1953 until 1987.

She was a Quadring parish councillor, a member of the Women's Institute, and Quadring Church treasurer. She was also a volunteer worker for St Barnabas Hospice and a Royal British Legion poppy collector.

Her funeral, officiated by the Rev Ian Walters, was held at Quadring Church and at Boston Crematorium, and was followed by cremation.

Chief family mourners were: Norman Featherstone (husband), Michael Featherstone, David Featherstone (sons), Suzanne Featherstone (daughter-in-law), Daniel Jacklin, Michael Jacklin (step-grandsons), Mr and Mrs Andrew Gordon (nephew-in-law and niece), Guy Lawson (nephew), Mr and Mrs Brian Drinkell, Margaret Barnett (cousins).
