JAZZ aficionados have a rare treat in store at Newark's Palace Theatre this evening. Acclaimed duo Claire Martin and Sir Richard Rodney Bennett promise a set of outstanding and unexpected songs in a nightclub setting as part of the town's annual jazz festival - call 01636 655755 for details.
PUT on your dancing shoes for a night of Northern soul and Motown music at Boston's Haven High Technology College. A team of DJs will be spinning the sounds from 7.30pm till late - call 01205 368610 or pay on the door.

BBC1, 7-5pm: Doctor Who (The Unicorn and the Wasp)
THE latest series of the Doctor Who is proving another big hit both with young and old alike, and so was an obvious choice for the not to be missed list.
The Doctor and his trusty companion Donna travel back to 1926 to meet Agatha Christie.
But as well as the crime writer, they also find an alien wasp.
ITV1, 8-9pm: Britain's Got Talent
MORE of the nation's 'talent' will be putting itself forward for our awe and amusement.
Judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan will again be passing judgement on the hopefuls as they look to secure the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance. There's also £100,000 up for grabs.
