I would like to say a big thank you to a Boston police officer who very kindly assisted my daughter on the evening of Friday, September 19.
My daughter had driven into town with friends to mark her boyfriend's leaving to go to Liverpool University.
She had intended not to have a drink but, for whatever reason, changed her mind! When it came to leaving town she realised that she h
ad parked her car in the market car park and that the market was on later that morning.
Not wanting to drink and drive (thank goodness) she approached an officer in a police car and explained the situation – the officer then very kindly agreed to move her car to another car park.
A simple act but one I feel is deserving of praise – it would of been much simpler for the officer to refuse assistance (insurance, health and safety blah, blah, blah) which would of caused my daughter great problems (and perhaps a phone call to daddy to come and move the car at some unearthly hour!).
So I would be very grateful if you could, through the pages of your paper, pass on my and my daughter's thanks to the officer concerned.
It was a small act of kindness which just goes to prove the quality and helpfulness of our local police officers.
