23/07/08 - Can computers help us with punctuation?
Published Date:

IN REPLY to Pat Ashberry's letter of July 9, 'Apostrophe catastrophe.'
Perhaps Pat Ashberry might like to type the whole of the wording into a modern-day computer with a spell-check on.
I'm sure she would find the computer accepts it with or without an apostrophe.
I was always taught if something belongs to someone, or if there was more than one, then an apostrophe should be used.
