Donington film director Liam Holland, prepares for his big premier at The Kinema, Woodhall Spa.

A budding young Stephen Speilberg who has made a feature-length action film from his bedroom, is to see it premiere at the cinema.

Liam Holland’s film Unnatural Disaster (12A) will be a given the full red carpet treatment when it is screened at The Kinema in the Woods on Saturday.

“I’m very excited and hope people enjoy it ,” said Liam, 23.

Described as a James Bond-style spoof, the film took him four years to make, with the help of friends.

Liam is the true ‘auteur’ of the film, having written, produced, directed and edited it. He even has a cameo role, playing one of the villains.

As the film boasts dramatic action scenes filmed across the globe (and Spalding) – there are also a fair amount of CGI effects used – all of which Liam created from his bedroom in Donington.

“The CGI takes a long time,” said Liam. “It took a month just to do a five-second explosion, as I wanted it to be right.”

And how did Liam get a budget for such an action-packed spectacular?

“It cost about £300,” he said. “I didn’t have any budget limits in mind when I wrote it, but thankfully I have friends who live abroad who filmed some scenes I needed.

“I also turned our dining room into a mini studio, with lighting and a blue screen.”

The ex-William Lovell School and Boston College student’s CV also boasts editing live visuals for rock band Muse and producing horror DVD special features.

He added: “I am planning to do a psycholoogical thriller next, but I will enjoy a well-desereved break first”
