Stallion and reindeer to kick start Boston’s festive weekend

A beautiful white stallion and live reindeer will be taking part in a parade through Boston to kick off the festive season in style.

Disney and panto characters will also join children on the promenade through the town in the parade – which is just one bit of festive fun due to take part in the town this weekend.

Boston BID has organised a three-day Christmas extravaganza in the town – and the group promises it will really get you feeling festive.

Two craft markets have been organised for Friday andSunday, with more than 80 stall-holders taking place on each day.

Street entertainers will be hoping to delight the crowds throughout the weekend, including on Saturday, when the regular Boston market will be on as usual.

The high point of the week’s celebrations will be the big lights switch on, taking place in the Market Place on Friday night.

Emmerdale stars Fiona Wade and Bhasker Patel will peform the vital button push, and they will be joined on stage by Boston boxer Callum Johnson for the big switch.

The ceremony will take place amid an evening of entertainment hosted by presenters from Endeavour Radio, who will also host acts on Sunday.

BID chairman Alan Ellis said: “Everything is now in place for a wonderful start to the festive season – all it needs is that final magic ingredient, the Boston public to turn out and support us.

“Let’s show the rest of Lincolnshire that Boston knows how to party.”
