BRUCE Jones will be swapping the Rovers Return for the Britannia when he takes to the decks on Saturday.
Bruce, aka Les Battersby from Coronation Street, will be taking part in a Battle of the DJ’s event for charity at the Church Street venue from 8.30pm.
He will be playing hits from the ‘70s and ‘80s while competing against the Brit’s resident DJ Jonny Crump, who will be playing tunes from the ‘90s, ‘00s and today.
Who wins will depend on the audiences donations and requests as songs are auctioned off against one another.
DJ Crump said: “We’ll get about five or six tunes each and then give the punters the option to get their songs played, and the chance to vote for who stays on. The more you pay the more we play.”
The night will aim to raise money for Boston’s own Blackfriars Theatre where Bruce is performing as Hook in the pantomime Peter Pan with Spalding-based production company Polka Dot until January 3.
Bruce Jones is best-known for his role in Corrie where he played cab driver Les Battersby until 2007.
Jonny Crump has been DJ’ing for 12-13 years in different clubs and is a regular DJ at the Brit where he tends to focus on current chart hits.
Entry to the event is free.
