Hordes of gamers packed out Boston’s Pescod Square last night to queue up to buy the new Grand Theft Auto video game.

Game opened especially for the midnight release of the long-anticipated addition to the 18-rated GTA series.

Gamers have reported that stocks are selling out fast in Boston.

A spokesman for the Game store said: “It was a really busy night with massive interest in the game. It’s been a fair while since the launch of the last game so this one was highly-anticipated.”

The ‘open world’ violent crime game was more than four years in the making - and cost a reported £170 million to make - making it the most expensive video game ever.
