Summer brings seaside specials

Wednesday, 9.30am - SUMMER season is getting into full swing for music and comedy fans.

A varied week of entertainment at the Embassy Theatre in Skegness kicks off on Wednesday (July 16) with a celebration of the greatest group of all time.

Using full costumes, authentic guitars, drums and amplifiers, Beatlemania recreates the look and sound of the Fab Four with immaculate musical precision.

On Thursday (July 17) a star of the Fifties is fondly remembered as Jeff Hooper, accompanied by the acclaimed National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Great Britain, pay tribute to singer Frankie Laine with many of his favourite numbers.

The Drifters also started life in the '50s and a version of the group is still touring today, playing all the hits such as Saturday Night At The Movies and Under The Boardwalk.

They return to the Embassy on Friday (July 18) to mark the group's 55th anniversary and the release of their first official new album in 30 years.

On Saturday (July 19) four icons of the rock 'n' roll era are celebrated in Rockin' On Heaven's Door.

Convincing portrayals of Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran will take the stage along with tributes to The Big Bopper and Jerry Lee Lewis.

Beautiful dancing girls, big band swing and spectacular costumes combine in a glitzy and glamorous show bringing One Night In Vegas to Skegness on Sunday (July 20).

Roy 'Chubby' Brown has built as reputation as one of the most successful British comics of recent times based almost entirely on his videos and live performances.

His act, strictly for adults only, returns to the Embassy Theatre on Wednesday, July 23.
