Off to see the Wizard?

FOLLOW the yellow brick road over the rainbow and into Blackfriars Theatre and Arts Centre on Sunday for a fun packed afternoon of family entertainment.

Spalding-based Polka Dot Theatre Company will be presenting their new adaptation of The Wizard of Oz at the Spain Lane venue at 1.30pm and 4.30pm.

The colourful retelling will include all your favourite characters in a song and dance spectacular which promises to vividly evoke the merry old land of Oz.

The classic story follows the adventures of Dorothy, a young girl who is transported over the rainbow into the magical world of Munchkins, witches and a wonderful wizard.

Along the yellow brick road Dorothy encounters the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion and their adventures finally lead them to the Emerald City, where mayhem and mischief await.

The show promises to be funny, exciting and suitable for children of all ages.

It has been developed from the classic 1939 MGM screenplay and is an enchanting adaptation of the all-time classic, featuring iconic songs including Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Follow the Yellow Brick Road and We’re Off to See the Wizard.

All the favourite characters and iconic moments are promised to be there as Polka Dot presents this magical adventure featuring West End performers.
