AN AWARD winning pianist is performing at Boston Concert Club on Tuesday.

Solo pianist Olivia Sham, will be playing at the Sam Newsom Music Centre, from 7.30pm.

Olivia is currently based in London where she is studying at the Royal Academy of Music (RAM).

She completed a Bachelor of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music on a scholarship of outstanding academic achievement/merit, she graduated with first class honours and the university medal.

She was then awarded a full scholarship from the RAM where she completed a Master of Music with Christopher Elton, graduating with distinction.

She is now completing her doctoral studies in Liszt Performance Practice at the academy supported by an overseas research award.

She has won numerous awards in Italy, the UK and Australia and has played with a number of orchestras including the Making Music award under the Philip and Dorothy Green Awards for Young Artists scheme.

She also won third prize in the 18th A.M.A. Calabria International Piano Competition (Italy), third prize in the 4th International Concerto Competition (Hastings Music Festival, UK), 2006 John Allison Piano Scholarship, prizes in the 2006 Australian National Piano Award, and keyboard winner of the 2003 Symphony Australia Young Performer of the Year.

Tickets to the show are £9 in advance and £10 on the door with children and students entering free.
