A TASTE of how life was in the 19th century was experienced by 150 primary school children when they visited Boston’s Guildhall Museum.

Five classes from Boston West School took a step back in time to learn about the Victorian era.

Many were excited to be locked into the tiny cells which famously held the Pilgrim Fathers.

Teacher Amanda Ward said: “The sights, sounds and smells that greeted them throughout the museum brought the history of this magnificent and prestigious building alive for them. Many were in awe of the fact that they were literally walking through 600 years of history.”
