Wednesday 3.15pm - THE big names keep rolling in as Blackfriars Arts Centre prepares to reopen for business.
Alvin Stardust is among the high-profile acts added to the forthcoming season as new programming manager Duggie Chapman continues to pull in the talent.
The My Coo-Ca-Choo singer will appear at the Spain Lane venue on December 13, ahead of a three-week run of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Boston Playgoers' production of Don't Dress For Dinner will be the first show at the reopened centre, from Thursday-Saturday, May 29-31, at 7.30pm.
The box office is now open from Monday-Saturday, 2-5pm, with tickets available from the centre or on 01205 363108.
With an estimated £150,000 debt to clear, Blackfriars Action Group chairman – and now one of the trustees of the centre – Graham Armer renewed the appeal for funds.
He said: "We still need donations urgently – any sum will do. We inherited a very large debt which has to be paid off."
Around a third of the debt stems from a loan from Broadgate Homes, but bosses there have agreed to accept repayment over two years, for which the trustees have expressed their thanks.
Mr Armer added, however: "Many other smaller, but still substantial, amounts require much quicker payment, so your help now will be more than welcome."
Donations to The Treasurer, Blackfriars Arts Centre Ltd, Golden Grove House, Golden Grove, Swineshead, Boston, Lincs, PE20 3JY.
