Wednesday, 10.25am - A MAN was chased by a car before the driver attacked him with a baseball bat.
Police have just released information regarding the assault in Boston on Sunday, which left the man with broken ribs and a wrist.

A 42-year-old Boston man was at a flat on Broadfield Lane when he was visited and threatened by two men, said police.

He managed to flee from the flat and ran into Bradford Road.

He was then chased by a green Ford Mondeo. Police said the car contained the original two men and possibly others.

The victim was chased across gardens and along the road – being struck by the car at least twice.

At some point the driver got out of the car and attacked the victim with a baseball bat before the car made off.

The victim also suffered lacerations to his head and left leg.
He was taken to Pilgrim Hospital where he remains. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Two men were arrested in connection with the incident.

The investigating officer, Det Con Simon Todd of Boston CID said: "This was a very serious and violent incident and the outcome could have been even more serious than it was. We are still appealing for witnesses to the scenes on Bradford Road.
"It was broad daylight on a Sunday evening and there must be a number of witnesses who we have yet to trace and speak to. I would appeal for anyone who saw any part of the incident or who has any information about the background to it to contact Boston CID."
