Thursday, 2pm - ORGANISERS of a charity concert are appealing for performers to help make harmonies for Boston's homeless.

Lincolnshire county councillor Andrea Jenkyns is using her organisational and musical background to raise money for Centrepoint Outreach, which is based on Red Lion Street in her Boston North West ward.

Coun Jenkyns is looking for singers an
d bands of all genres and cultures to perform for free at the event at Haven High Technology College on Friday, October 30.

"I had a meeting with John Marshall (of Centrepoint Outreach) and his colleagues last week and was very impressed by their commitment and passion for what they do," said Coun Jenkyns.

"The charity's work really does support the community, from offering a hot meal to the homeless to emergency food parcels and a drop-in centre.

"I was moved by how hard they work and I wanted to help. They completely rely on donations, and so I thought why not use what skills I have - organisational and musical - and try to arrange a fundraising concert where all the proceeds will go to them."

Coun Jenkyns' first album ILYIS made it onto the shelves of HMV stores across the country and was available to buy on Apple I-tunes.
Although she has taken a stop back from singing to concentrate on her council duties, Coun Jenkyns was also vocal coach and musical director of Blackfriars Theatre Academy.

To take part in the event, contact Coun Jenkyns with your demo at cllra.jenkyns@lincolnshire.gov.uk or call 07846 320330.

Today's Vote

This week: Regarding the planned works at the Geoff Moulder pool do you want to see:
a) The training pool closed and £2.5m spent on the leisure pool?
b) The money split between the two pools so they can both stay open?
