Tuesday, 9.30am - A FAMILIAR four-legged friend who could often be seen about town has died.
Guide dog Ben, belonging to well-known local woman Mary Clark, passed away on Sunday.

The black Labrador/retriever cross was 14-and-a-half-years-old.

Prior to his retirement, he had accompanied Mrs Clark to various events in Boston, raising awareness of Guide Dogs.

"He was not only my guide dog, but also a loyal friend and companion," said Mrs Clark. "He was a fine ambassador for Guide Dogs."

She added: "I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported Ben over the years."

When Ben retired Mrs Clark received a new guide dog Heidi, but she could not be parted from her companion of 12 years.

Today's Vote

This week: Regarding the planned works at the Geoff Moulder pool do you want to see:
a) The training pool closed and £2.5m spent on the leisure pool?
b) The money split between the two pools so they can both stay open?
