Reaction from the public telling their stories of the Lincolnshire Earthquake:
We live near Kirton Marsh, and my husband was already awake when he heard a sound from afar and thought it sounded like a train coming.
Now we live where it is very, very quiet and he wondered about the noise. As it came closer he woke me and I was aware of the sound in my sleep. He said 'can you hear that? It's an earthquake.' I said, 'WHAT!' With disbelief. I then listened as the house shook, the wardrobe rattled and the bed shook from side to side. It felt as though it were directly beneath us.
Our son who lives in an attic apartment in Kirton felt it worse. Being high up I suppose, he said his bed rocked from side to side and his TV came off its stand, crockery rattled, he was very frightened until I sent him a text message telling him what it was. His first thought was that it was a terrorist attack.
You may think this is also a little odd but I am susceptible to energy shifts (I can tell where meridian lines are) and yesterday walking out in our fields I had to come inside and told my husband, 'I don't feel very well. I feel odd, can't explain it, but I feel as though I am being drawn to one side like a magnet is pulling me.'
I wonder now if this had anything to do with the imminent earthquake, maybe I was picking up on something beginning to occur.
The earthquake is an experience we won't forget.

"I was very lucky - I slept through it. I think it would have been quite traumatic for some people."

"I did notice the earthquake. My wife wanted to get out of bed so I told her to stay where she was. I knew it was an earthquake straight away as I remember one when I was a boy in Nottingham in the early fifties. I was in a school hall and it shook like anything."

"I thought it was terrible and I had a panic attack. I woke up straight away at 1am and it took me until 3am to get back to sleep."

"All I remember is the bed shaking and then the whole flat shaking - I was very scared - my neighbour then rang to see if everything was OK."
