Thursday, 12.40pm - CHRISTMAS shopping could be a bit more challenging for Boston's Simon Andrew Bisby this year…he's just been banned from all but two shops in the borough.
Bisby, 33, of Carlton Road, was told by Boston Magistrates' Court on Wednesday he could only enter the Co-op, in West Street, and Parkside Surgery, in Tawney Street, for the next six months.

He had all ready pleaded guilty to shoplifting at Skegness Magistrates' Court the day before.

Stephen Hill, prosecuting, told Boston's magistrates that Bisby had stolen four W.W.F. plastic figurines to the value of £27.97 from Woolworths, in Boston, on November 17.

Mr Hill said the defendant had been 'struggling' since leaving prison, and was waiting for his benefits to start. He added that Bisby has a child for whom he wanted to provide, that he is in a relationship, but did not want to burden his partner.

Neil Sands, in mitigation, explained as his client was still waiting for benefits, he was not in a position to pay costs.

Bisby received a community sentence from the court, and was placed under curfew from 7pm-7am for three months.

Chairman of the magistrates Sally McCracken explained part two of his penalty. "You are prohibited from entering any retail premise in the borough of Boston – quite a large area – except the Co-op, on West Street, and Parkside Chemist for a period of six months," she said.

No order for was made for costs.

Bisby also pleaded not guilty to a public order offence from May 18 of this year.

He will appear at Boston Magistrates' Court again on January 14 for committal.

He was released on unconditional bail.

This week: Regarding the planned works at the Geoff Moulder pool do you want to see:
a) The training pool closed and £2.5m spent on the leisure pool?
b) The money split between the two pools so they can both stay open?
