Thursday, 3pm - ARTISTS and crafts makers from across the county are once again opening their studios to offer the public a rare insight into how they work.
Art on the Map is returning to Lincolnshire for the ninth year running. The Fen cluster of artists – which incorporated those from our area, plus Spalding and the south of the county – will be opening up their workshops this weekend (November 15 and
16).

Among the local artists displaying their work and offering the public the chance to purchase some originals are New Zealand-born Lind Anso, who studied art in London before settling at Studio 35, Red Lion Street, Boston.

"My home is my studio where I paint people and places, finding inspiration in the bustle of the town and the infinite spaces of the Fens," said Lind, who can be contacted on 01205 355958.

Two artists will exhibit from Swineshead's Arts Coritani, situated along Grannery Lane.

Rosi Campbell is best known for her molten and endearing townscapes from memory.

Glynne James paints across time, depicting the Fens and farms with a temporal quality.

Rosi can be contacted on 01205 820014 and Glynne on 01205 305962.

Polish-born Leszek Dabrowski studied at Liverpool College of Art. His paintings are based mostly on his travels in Europe and can be found at Fairfield, Wainfleet Road, Boston (01205 367364).

Lyn Jenkins trained as a printed textile designer but since 1985 she has worked at her own studio, currently in Church End Barn, Burton Croft Road, Fishtoft, specialising in felted textiles.

Lyn can be contacted on 01205 3969607.

Also opening their studios in our area are:

Joan Dowling, High Street, Gosberton, specialises in large nude oil paintings (01775 840577).

Jean Nicholas, Bumblebee Studio, 48 Belchmire Lane, Gosberton, is best-known for her abstract paintings and print-making (01775 810121).

Norman Rossiter, The Studio, 44 Station Road, Surfleet, specialises in wildlife and countryside subjects (01775 680897).

Opening times can be obtained from each artist.

Today's Vote

This week: Regarding the planned works at the Geoff Moulder pool do you want to see:
a) The training pool closed and £2.5m spent on the leisure pool?
b) The money split between the two pools so they can both stay open?
