Friday, 12.30pm - YEAR six children at Mareham le Fen CofE Primary School have been taking part in Bike Wise training during June and July.
The training has been delivered by a Ministry of Defence police unit beat officer and RAF police along with friends of the school, as part of a Lincolnshire Road Partnership initiative overseen by Carole Hatt.

The youngsters were shown how to maintain and stay in control of their bikes and which signals to use when carrying out manoeuvres.

The final four lessons were carried out on a public road in the village where the children were able to put the theory into practice.

RAF Coningsby unit beat officer Pc Pete Smith said: "All of those involved enjoyed the course immensely; the effort and attitude to learning which this group of youngsters put into their training, was a real credit to them and to their school."

He added: "Hopefully their new knowledge will keep them safe while cycling in the future."

Today's Vote

This week: Regarding the planned works at the Geoff Moulder pool do you want to see:
a) The training pool closed and £2.5m spent on the leisure pool?
b) The money split between the two pools so they can both stay open?
