AN ASPIRING model from Boston is a step closer to realising her dream after making the final stage of a nationwide model search.

Clare Stephens, 22, has a chance to secure a 12-month modelling contract after being chosen as a finalist for 2011’s Top Model UK competition.

She is among a select number picked from more than 4,000 entrants - and the only one from Lincolnshire to make the cut.

“I think I am just waiting for it to sink in at the moment,” said Clare, who has only recently found out she will be taking part in the event at London’s Hilton Metropole later this month.

Clare, a full-time mum, has aspired to be a model since she was 15 and says she wants to help make a better life for herself and her three-year-old boy, Keegan.

“I want to make something of myself and give my little boy the best upbringing,” she said.

Clare is among 40 entrants shortlisted in the commercial models category, out of 80 finalists overall. She will compete against others in a fashion show, featuring the work of 22 designers.

Clare says it would make a ‘massive difference’ to her and her son to win, but is already delighted to have made this stage of the competition.

“The experience is like a prize,” she said.

“Not many people will get to experience a catwalk show - and in the Hilton as well.”

You can help Clare towards a special prize based on public votes by texting MODEL UK63 to 88008. Proceeds to Children with Leukaemia. Closing date March 25.
