Barn break-in leaves family upset and worried intruders might return

Two young girls have been left upset and worried that intruders might return after a barn was broke into yesterday (Thursday).

The incident took place on Thursday between 9.40am-4.40pm on, Coldharbour Lane, in Carrington.

Items stolen included a red Honda 350 Quad, an orange Honda XR500 motorbike, a red Kazuma 50cc child’s quad and red and white crash helmet, a hedge trimmer, a chain saw, and a cutter.

The girls’ mum Karen Simonds said; “This was in broad daylight! Incidents like this seem to be on the rise.

“I’m normally about in the daytime but yesterday I took my girls to the gym in Sleaford and then went onto visit my cousin in Grantham so was out.

“They are upset and worried they will come back. So am I to be honest.”

Mrs Simonds told The Standard she had heard of other similar incidents taking place in the area over the past few months.

She has supplied CCTV images to the police to follow up on.

A police spokesman confirmed they were investigating the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police non-emergency number 101 quoting incident number 316 of Thursday, February 16.
