A Boston company has announced its intention to compete in this year’s Dragon Boat Race on the River Witham.

Dynamic Cassette International, an inkjet and toner company, will be reforming their crew, the DCI Dragons, to race against other local companies in the charity
event.

A spokesperson for DCI commented: “We are looking forward to taking part in what is now a well established fundraising event in the town, and we felt it important to support a charity that operated in Lincolnshire too.

“We took part a few years ago so our team know that there’s a lot of hard work involved, but we’re hoping that we can be successful as a crew and raise funds for charity in the process.”

The event, held annually at the Witham Country Park, in Boston, is in its fifth year and supports a number of national and local charities.

DCI have participated in the race in previous years, and this time around, they are looking to help raise funds for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Trust.

The event will take place on Sunday, August 16, and there will be several catering outlets on site as well as children’s rides and bouncy castles, face painters and entertainers to keep everyone occupied between races.
