Bosses at a Boston firm have confirmed they make an announcement tomorrow (Friday) as unconfirmed reports claim part of the business has closed and staff have lost their jobs.

The Standard was contacted by anonymous sources earlier today (Thursday) concerned over a meeting being held at the Magnadata Group’s site on Horncastle Road.

When the firm, which incorporates Norprint, was approached by a Standard reporter, they were told ‘something has happened but would not confirm what.

They added that a ‘press release would be put out shortly’ and to ‘call back tomorrow’.

Staff approached by the Standard on site said they were unable to comment on the situation.

An anonymous caller to the Boston Standard from someone pertaining to be from Norprint said staff were made redundant at the meeting and that the site was closed with immediate effect.

When the Standard office visited the site the reception office was closed.

According to their websites Magnadata boasts being ‘one of the Worlds leading suppliers of passenger transport ticketing since the 1980’s’, while its Norprint arm says it is ‘one of Europe’s largest labelling solutions providers’.

More as we have it.
