A STUDENT from Boston has secured a job at one of the world’s largest business empires - before he even graduated from university.

Darren Sullivan, of Tower Street, graduated from the University of Central Lancashire last week with a first-class degree in software engineering after securing the role of software developer for IBM.

The ex Boston Grammar and High School pupil was offered the job after a work placement with the technology giant that he took as part of his degree course.

“I’m starting my career with one of the biggest companies in the world, which isn’t a bad start to my career.” said Darren, 23.

He added: “But as I was only offered the job on the condition that I achieved at least a 2:1 - it really spurred me on to get a good grade.”
