A SOLDIER whose life was transformed by the Army is urging young people in Boston to consider joining.
Pte Ryan Teague, of Revesby, said he was a ‘tearaway’ as a teenager – but joining the Army has given him a happier life and career.
“Being in the Army for four years has definitely made me into a better person,” said Ryan, 28.
“I used to get into a bit of trouble when I was younger but Army life has helped me to grow up and have more respect for myself and others.”
Since joining the 2 Royal Anglian regiment (The Poachers) Ryan has been posted to Afghanistan, Iraq, Germany, The Fawklands, and Cyprus.
“I’ve travelled all over the world and made so many close friends in my four years with the Army - such things I simply wouldn’t get in any other job.” he said.
Concluding, he added: “I joined the Army as there wern’t many career prospects for me in the area. I would recommend anyone give Army life a try.”
