BREAKING NEWS UPDATE: Local woman killed in fatal road collision

A THIRTY-seven-year-old motorcyclist from the Boston area has been killed in an accident on the A1121 Boardsides this morning - taking the number of fatalities on Lincolnshire’s roads this year to 10.

The woman, who was riding a silver 125cc Yamaha, was killed following a collision involving two cars at Slatehouse Farm, between Wyberton Fen and Hubberts Bridge, at about 3.20am.

A 33-year-old man, from the Tattershall area, who was driving a grey Fiat Ulysse and a 34-year-old man, from the Holbeach area, who was driving a silver Peugeot 406 Estate, have been arrested and taken to Boston Police Station for questioning.

The stretch of road between Hubberts Bridge and Sleaford Road has been closed and diversions put in place. Fen Lane has also been closed.

Rush hour traffic travelling into Boston town centre will be directed through Hubberts Bridge and onto the A52 and vice-versa.

The death is the 10th fatality on Lincolnshire roads so far this year compared with four at the same time last year.
