ASDA store in Boston is promoting itself as the heart of the community with the launch of a new scheme.

The Community Life project will give the store’s customers the chance to nominate and select local community groups, charities, schools and projects they feel should receive financial support.

Asda customers can nominate any local cause for the ‘Chosen by you...given by us’ programme, by using forms available in the Lister Way store.

Staff will then select the final three causes from those nominated, before customers vote for the overall winner to receive £200. The two runners-up will each get £50.

Asda’s general store manager Dawn Belcher said: “We’re really keen to get involved in making Boston a better place to work and live and the chosen by you...given by us programme is just one of the ways we can help.”

The first three causes have already been selected. They are Staniland Primary School, Skirbeck Road skatepark and Pilgrim hospital’s Neo-natal unit. Voting for these three ends on May 31.
