The Coaching Inn Group, in Quaker Lane, was named Best Accommodation Operator and Best Pub Employer in The Publican Awards 2017.

The event, held last Tuesday at the Battersea Evolution event space, in London, aims to recognise excellence in the pub company sector across the UK.

Almost 1,400 people attended last week’s event, which was hosted by TV presenter Jonathan Ross.

The Coaching Inn Group’s chief executive officer Kevin Charity spoke of what it meant to bring home a brace of honours from this year’s awards ceremony.

He said: “We operate in an incredibly competitive arena, so we’re absolutely delighted to win not one but two awards.

“The accolades are a real reflection of the work we’ve been doing in recent years in investing in our teams, as well as restoring our coaching inns to their former glory.

“This recognition couldn’t have been achieved without the unparalleled hard work and dedication to service excellence from our teams.”

The Coaching Inn Group boasts 13 award-winning properties across 10 counties, including The White Hart, in Boston, and The Admiral Rodney, in Horncastle.

It is currently carrying out a £50 million expansion programme to increase its portfolio of hotels to 25 and says it has already acquired one landmark coaching inn this year (The Castle Hotel in Conwy), with a further two planned this spring.

Last year, the business was listed in Grant Thornton’s top 10 East Midlands’ fastest growing businesses and was also named one of 10 UK companies to watch in The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100.
