It proposes three consulting rooms where general pet care advice would given and animals would receive basic preventative medicine and treatments (such as worming or flea treatments) and an operating theatre where small scale procedures such as spaying and x-raying would be carried out. A laboratory, pharmacy, and grooming areas are also proposed.

In response to the submission, a spokesman for Pets At Home said: “Our Boston store already offers our unique product range and customer service and we have been looking to increase our range and services offered for some time. We hope to bring a more extensive Pets at Home experience to our valued Boston customers in the near future.”
