Six Boston-area businesses have been awarded for providing work placements and promoting career opportunities for teenagers.

At a ceremony in Lincoln, the Lincolnshire and Rutland Education Business Partnership (EBP) awarded certificates to ABC Day Nursery, Asda, Criminal Defence Associates Solicitors, David Hart Photography, Oldrids Ltd and Elwood, Briggs & Turner veterinary practice.

Claire Flavell, operations manager for EBP, said: “Hundreds of businesses throughout the region go above and beyond each year to provide high quality work placements and meaningful experiences for students throughout the county. Our Investors in Education Awards provide schools and colleges the opportunity to nominate and acknowledge those whose dedication and commitment to the future’s workforce has shined most during 2013.

“We, along with schools and teenagers, couldn’t be more grateful for the work and life experiences these businesses have provided to hundreds of young people across the region.”

Nominated by the schools, young people and members of EBP, the awards acknowledge the ‘support and dedication of employers in supporting the workforce of tomorrow’.
