Boston’s London Road Spar shop has been shortlisted for the Best Small Store of the Year award at the forthcoming Convenience Retail Awards.

The awards recognise excellence in the convenience retail sector, and reward outstanding stores, staff and standards.

“All my staff and I are extremely proud and excited to have been shortlisted for this award,’ said owner Jacqui Bailey.

“After a year of tremendous hard work and commitment, it is wonderful to have been recognised.”

Jacqui donated £500 worth of food to the local food bank following the recent flooding.

“My family have been running a store in Boston since 1980,” she explained. “So the store has been a key part of our local community for 34 years.”

Store business development manager Julian Brunton said: “This is a great family business, totally unique with a delicious bakery in store.

“They have mastered the art of customer service, which shows in the excellent turnover from such a small site.”

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London on March 6.
