BREAKING NEWS: New Assembly Rooms owner snaps up town centre pub

Breaking news from the Boston Standard, Lincolnshire: bostonstandard.co.uk, on Twitter @standardboston

Breaking news from the Boston Standard, Lincolnshire: bostonstandard.co.uk, on Twitter @standardboston

The new owner of the Assembly Rooms has today taken over a pub in Boston town centre.

Matt Clark has bought the Waterfront pub from Barracuda and told The Standard that he wanted another premises to complement the Assembly Rooms, which he bought for £465,000 in November.

Mr Clark, the man behind Activ Group, begins trading at the pub, formerly the Prospect, from today.

He said: “This will support the purchase of the Assembly Rooms. It is good to have more than one venue in the town so that we can offer a product that people can enjoy.”

For more on Mr Clark’s vision for the pub and the Assembly Rooms and news of why he hopes this is not the last purchase he makes in Boston, see next week’s Boston Standard.
