Being an environmentally-friendly business offering a haven for wildlife, it’s easy to see why this year’s Green Award went to Boston West Golf Centre.
The 24-hole golf complex offers environmentally-sustainable solutions with accommodation and a function venue.
Accepting the award, the company’s Richard Owens said: “I’ve been working at Boston Westb now for nearly 20 years and have seen things grow from a sugar beet field to where we are today.
“We believe that all businesses can do a little bit for the environment, and particularly in our case, we’ve done an awful lot for conservation and wildlife too.
“So this is the icing on the cake for what has been a really good year for us.”
He added: “Thank you very much to all the sponsors and to all you for attending tonight.”
Runners-up were Freshtime UK Ltd, a grower and supplier of chilled and ready-to-eat vegetable and salad products operating to the highest environmental and animal welfare standard, and Pescod Square shopping centre which focusses on recycling and sustainability.
The awards were presented by the leader of Boston Borough Council Coun Peter Bedford.
