Highways officers are carrying out works to fix an issue which has caused flooding on one side of the new St Botolphs footbridge.
A county council spokesman said the problem occurred where the old surfaces met the new ones in a ‘tectonic plate’ style.
In effect it meant the old surface went under the new to create a dip where water gathered when it rained.
The spokesman said the work was hoped to be completed by the end of today (Thursday).
The £750,000 EU-funded bridge officially opened by the Mayor of Boston and children from Park Academy in March.
It was chosen by public vote from three designs including a traditional brick design.
