Can’t be complacent on empty shops

THE number of vacant retail units in Boston has returned to its lowest level since 2006.

The number for 2011 stands at 28, the same as in 2006.

The were 38 empty shops 2007, 48 in 2008, 32 in 2009 and 37 in 2010.

Council officer Steve Lumb, however said the town could not get complacent and that the next 12 months would be crucial.
