Bin collections will go ahead as normal on Good Friday – with Easter Monday’s waste to be collected this Saturday instead.

The borough council has also stressed that residents can still snap up a brown garden waste bin at the ‘2012 price’ of £20.

The cost will rise to £25 on April 1.

The one-off payment equips residents with an extra bin and gets admission to the garden waste kerbside collection service provided by Boston Borough Council, if you have not already joined.

Coun Michael Brookes, the council’s portfolio holder for waste services, said: “We have kept the price of the brown bins down as long as we possibly can, but if you get in quick and order your bin before April 1 you can still buy at last year’s discounted price of £20.”
