There were a pair of safe hands ready to assist with the official opening of a new enterprise in Boston last week.

Paul Bastock was the guest of honour for the event at The Pension Shop, in Silver Court, on Friday.

The ex-Boston United goalkeeper - affectionately known as Bazza - holds the record for the most appearances for the York Street club.

The Pension Shop is the ‘trading as name’ for First Capital Independent Financial Advisers Ltd.

Managing director Jonathan Beck said: “Pension legislation changed dramatically in April 2015.

“We feel it is imperative that people take appropriate advice before drawing their pension benefits.

“We have therefore opened The Pension Shop to provide independent advice to ensure people are aware of the options available to meet their retirement needs.”

The Pension Shop had its first day yesterday (Tuesday).

It is open from Monday to Friday, between 10am and 5pm, and on Saturday, from 9am to 1pm.
