Supermarket chain Iceland has commented on reports it has plans for Boston’s closed Morrisons store.

Posts on social media indicated that the business had acquired the now vacant unit at Boston Shopping Park, off Horncastle Road.

However, a spokesman for Iceland said today (April 7) ‘nothing has yet been confirmed’.

They said: “We are actively increasing our estate and looking for new opportunities around the UK. Nothing has yet been confirmed for a new store in Boston. We can confirm we shall be retaining our existing store in Boston.”

The Boston Shopping Park has been approached for a comment, but yet to respond.

Poundworld has indicated it will be moving into the recently closed Brantano unit at the shopping park, as reported last month.
