Jobs at risk at Boston’s Pinguin Foods

THIRTY-four jobs are at risk at a Boston food factory.

Pinguin Foods Ltd is going through a consultation period over the 34 positions and will make a decision by mid December.

The company currently employs 55 people at its Marsh Lane site.

A spokesman for Pinguin Foods Ltd, which is based in Norfolk, said the company is ‘under a lot of pressure’ in its market place.

He added: “We are now looking to streamline services to ensure they are as cost-effective as possible.”

The company produces frozen vegetables, fruit and convenience meals. The firm operates other sites in Bourne and King’s Lynn.
