AN OLD Leake based company has been named ‘top dog’ at Crufts, beating more than 400 exhibitors to win a best stand award.

Laughing Dog, which produces dog food from products grown and baked in Lincolnshire, came first in the Best medium Sized Trade Stand category at the show.

Brian Allen, general manager of Laughing Dog, said: “We are absolutely delighted with our award and I would like to thank the whole team for all their hard work in bringing the stand together.

“Laughing Dog is based on Fold Hill Farm where we actually grow alot of the ingredients that are baked into our dog food and treats.

With the stand we wanted to explain that and tell the Laughing Dog story, which is why there were real oats, barley and vegetables from our farm dotted around the stand.”

This is the second year in a row that Laughing Dog has appeared at Crufts and the team will be creating the same stand at the Country Living Spring fair in London this week.

Brian said: “We had a lot of fun at Crufts and the stand had a lovely reaction from visitors.

“Another big hit were the huge bales of hay that we brought from the farm.”

He added: “There were lots of tired legs at the show so a nice rest on our hay bales was enjoyed by lots of people and dogs.”
