The unit currently being vacated by Brantano at the Boston Shopping Park, off Horncastle Road, is to become a Poundworld, it has been confirmed.

The Boston branch of Brantano closes its doors for the final time this week.

The business was placed into administation in January, but while some outlets were saved, Boston’s was not one of them (as reported here).

Today (Wednesday, March 16) a spokesman for Poundworld Retail confirmed it would be moving into the premises.

They said: “We’re delighted to bring our amazing value offering to Boston Shopping Park breathing new life in to the former Brantano unit. It’s a great, convenient location and we’re looking forward to serving local shoppers there.

“All former Brantano employees based at the store will be given the opportunity to apply for a new role in the Poundworld team.”

The spokesman added there are about 30 jobs available at the store from sales assistants to management and supervisors.

An exact opening date is not yet knwn, but it is expected to be late April/early May, they added.

Poundworld describes itself as one of the UK’s leading value variety retailers with more than 300 stores, employing in excess of 6,000 people.
