In these difficult economic times, two friends have taken on a challenge to try to help people make quality improvements to their home for less.

Carl Bolland and Dan Dereock have teamed up to open Sugarhill Upholstery on Boston’s London Road, and offer people in the area the chance to give their home a makeover without breaking the bank.

And home furnishings are not the only things on offer at the store, which opened earlier in the month – people can also get hold of a large variety of fabric, and even interiors for their cars.

Carl, who own Siltside Services, which is also based on London Road, said: “We do vehicles, pubs, special contracts, as well as all the rest.

“We offer the full service.”

Bespoke furnishings are available, with customers able to pick from more than 120 fabrics which the pair have in stock.

Upholstery offers the chance to get a new look for slightly tired or dated furniture, by covering them with new material.

The pair are hoping to expand into cushions as time goes by.

Dan is bringing the upholstery know-how to the business, while Carl is contributing his business sense. It is the first time either of them have tried something like this, and Carl told The Standard he thought it would be and interesting opportunity for both of them.

“This is something quite exciting for us, and I hope it will work well and go our way. Only time will tell,” he said.

To contact Sugarhill Upholstery call Carl or Dan at the shop on 01205 317755 or contact Carl on 07788 675000.
