Staff at Oldrids and Downtown have been recognised for their achievements with prizes given at the company’s Talent Pool scheme.
Employees from across the company’s stores and head office in Boston, Grantham, Gainsborough and Lincoln have been taking part in a series of events and challenges designed to give opportunities to develop their skills in a range of areas, from finance and leadership to customer service.
Seven employees who took part have been promoted internally to management and buyer positions in the last year.
June Parker, HR and development director said: “It’s great to see the confidence and potential of people flourish over the course of the Talent Pool seminars and the resulting business projects that are produced are testament to the importance of giving employees the opportunity to be heard and to innovate and utilise the differing talent that often remains untapped in companies.”
This year’s winner was Helen Start from Downtown Superstore, Grantham, with Katie Sharpe from Oldrids head office in Boston and Lawson Milne from Downtown Garden Centre in Grantham receiving second prize jointly. A number of other participants also received a special commendation for their work.
Each participant was asked to produce a business project based upon the area of the business they work in.
